How Great Is Our God

Revelation 21:2-5
"And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.  He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.  He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."  And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

I have been reading in Revelation the past couple weeks, and it's a little difficult for me to know what to take away from it, but the Lord has used it to reveal His Glory to me, and it has been wonderful to be able to just ponder on that for awhile.  Thinking about how glorious, amazing, mighty, powerful and wonderful our God is.

It has been an ongoing struggle for me in my quiet times, reading and feeling like I'm not getting anything out of it.   Having a hard time trusting that the Lord will speak to me through his word when I'm not really knowing what to get out of it.  On sunday, Keith said, When God's word goes out, it NEVER returns to him void.  This means that when I read his word in the morning, even if I don't feel like I understand or necessarily know what to take away from it, God's word never returns to him void!
Praise the Lord that it is not our understanding and our works that bring us communion with him, it is because of the FINISHED work of the precious Lamb of God, that we stand righteous, blameless, and forgiven before our HOLY GOD!
That to say, I am so grateful for the word of God, and that He is allowing me to see and understand him in new ways, little by little, until the day he returns and we will be like him because we shall see him as he is!  Lord hasten the day of your return!

(sorry I kinda went a different direction than the verse I wanted to write about ... maybe I'll finish when I have more time :))

Friday Night

Kind of a boring post, but just an update on our friday night!  Integrity got tickets for everyone to go to a Tides game, but when we got there it was raining. We really didn't think it was worth it to sit in the rain to watch the tides ... so we went to the mall with Kate and Clay, Lizzy and Luke, and then we saw Augie and his family there, so we all went to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen!  It was a rockin time.

Kate and I thinkin we're way too cool in our sweet hats & shades! :)

Happy Birthday To My Angel!

Yes it's true, I have an angel. Also true that it's her birthday.  I'm very grateful that God gave her to all of us. Mostly though to me! I'm not really good with words. (even if I was however, words would limit how I truly felt.) Katie Jeanne really is my very own angel. Her love for God is humbling. It truly pushes me to be more passionate about God and his Glory. Her love overflows to everyone she meets and interacts with. At her birthday party saturday this was echoed over and over as people shared about her. I do not know a more joyful person. She lights up any room she enters. And today we celebrate God's precious gift he gave to Lyle and Linda 22 years ago! Happy Birthday Katie Jeanne!!! I love you very much babe.

Honeymoon in Hawaii

This was the night we got all dressed up to go a fancy dinner at "The Canoe House".  This was one of the highlights for both of us.  Live Hawaiian music playing as you ate and watched the sunset to a candlelit delicious dinner!

Beachin it!  Everyday we were at the beach by about 8 am.  The first few nights we were there, we woke up at 3am wide awake, but went back to bed til about 6, so by 8, we had eaten breakfast, had our coffee and quiet times (a couple mornings anyway .. we're pretty godly), and were ready to hit the beach.  It was gorgeous and in the high 80's every day!  The lord blessed us with perfect weather while we were there!

Every sunset was so beautiful ...
